Da Bac is a mountainous district located in the western region of Hoa Binh province, bordered by Thanh Son and Tan Son districts of Phu Tho province to the North, and three districts of Cao Phong, Tan Lac, Mai Chau to the South. The East borders Hoa Binh city and the West borders two districts of Phu Yen and Van Ho of Son La. The distance from Hanoi to Da Bac is about 90 km.
