Located in the heart of Hoa Binh city, next to the romantic Da river, Hoa Binh Provincial Museum is a place to preserve and promote the cultural values of ethnic minorities in Hoa Binh province. It can be seen that each artifact here contains the meaning of spiritual life, customs and traditions so that people who come to visit and experience better understand the diversity and uniqueness, thereby loving more the good cultural values of our nation.

Established on the basis of separation from Ha Son Binh Museum in 1991. Hoa Binh Provincial Museum has the function of research and scientific education to promote the traditional cultural heritage of ethnic minorities, especially of the Muong ethnic group. Over the years, the Museum's officers, employees, and workers have conducted hundreds of research, collections, and fixed and mobile thematic displays. With nearly 18,000 documents, materials, and artifacts, Hoa Binh Provincial Museum plays a very important role in conveying and introducing the history, culture, and customs of ethnic minorities of the province to a large number of tourists when they come to visit and study through exhibitions.

In recent years, Hoa Binh Provincial Museum has constantly innovated its display work to introduce to the public the most typical artifacts, to help visitors have the most general view of the cultural heritage of the provinces. Ethnic minorities in Hoa Binh province are diverse and rich. With a total display area that is still quite modest, the Provincial Museum currently has three display areas with different themes. Along with the fixed display, Hoa Binh Provincial Museum has conducted mobile displays in remote communes and especially difficult areas. Especially in recent years, Hoa Binh Provincial Museum has also promoted the display and introduction of cultural heritage of Hoa Binh province in northern provinces such as displaying Muong cultural heritage in Hung Yen and Hai Phong provinces, etc.

Thanks to continuous innovation in activities and display topics, Hoa Binh Provincial Museum has attracted many domestic and foreign visitors to visit and experience. On average, each year the Museum welcomes about three thousand visitors.
